Venture Academy Community,
Welcome to the school social worker page! The Venture Academy social workers are excited to connect with your family and students in the coming school year to help support their success in school, at home, and in their communities.
Venture Academy provides social work services to families and students who would like support. School social workers are mental health professionals with a specific skillset that can help Venture families and students with many different areas - just some are listed below!
If you or your student needs support, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school social workers. Our priority is to support our students in their academic, social and emotional development. Families are an integral part of the work we do in supporting our students, so we strive for open communication.
When a student meets with a social worker, all information disclosed is kept confidential under most circumstances. Social workers follow the NASW Code of Ethics when determining if information a client discloses will be shared with others. Situations where we will share information disclosed to us by a student typically involves student permission, or if student has indicated thoughts of hurting themself or others. If a student reports a safety concern in the home, social workers are bound by MN Mandated Reporting laws to report this to the county. Our goal is always to support the student's wellbeing, so we strive to communicate with the family as much as we can.
